Flume for Instagram App Reviews

Excellent Instagram client. Tried every other client on App Store and Flume is the first worthy way to experience Instagram on a Mac.

This app is probably the best way to look through your Instagram feed on Mac. Much better than the official web client and all 3-rd party viewers. And also it’s really clean and beautiful. You can just open it for a sec, check if there’s anything new and close, saving your time and preventing greater procrastination.

There is a problem with notifications: it says «error while downloading your activity». What should I do?! I bought it for work because of notifications but it doesn’t work! What have I payed for?

I love this app, makes watching my IG feed on a desktop an almost constant and enjoyable experience. Still it has a few quirks: - When the app refreshes my feed it gets stuck into the spinning wheel… its frustrating…. - Scrolling makes it jump all over the place, it gets crazy… I use the up and down arrows instead. - Sometimes it confuses the ratios of the pictures and shows you a 4:5 as a 1:1 Looking forward to some updates.

it is not as smooth as i expected when scroll down and load new pics with column view, the ratio gets weird (but it will gets normal),

It makes using instagram a lot more fun. I would say I’ve found that it works great with Safari.

The app is awesome! The design completely matches the OS X DNA. It goes best with the dark mode, but looks great on the normal mode too. Also, the back/forward gestures are very helpful (my feeling says that triggering it can be even better). The activity tab works well. This is basically the reason I downloaded the app. Please keep it there... Great job! Finally an Instagram client worth paying for. As a feature request, a peek/pop feature in grid-view for Force touch trackpads might be a good idea. UPDATE: I have edited my review. I mentioned some problems in my previous reivew which seemed to be existing only on my machine.

I love the minimalism of this app. It’s beautiful and puts the photos front and center without a lot of superfluous information getting in the way. There are, however, some bugs, and for an app that costs $4, I’d like to see them fixed sooner rather than later. The biggest/most annoying one I’ve come accross so far is a video playback bug in which you start to play a video, exit out of it, but audio continues to play, and loop over and over, and there’s seemingly no way to stop it without quitting the app entirely. I think it would also be nice to have controls appear when you hover over an image (like, comment, enlarge preview, see more info). I appreciate the settings you can tweak within the app’s preferences that control what happens when you click, etc., but it’s a bit confusing how to get to certain parts of the app. Keep up the good work.

Beautiful user interface, however I found two glitches: if you press the space button when a video is playing to bring it to front, it keeps playing the original video in the background and starts playing the video in overlay at the same time with an annoying timimg offset. Secondly, the notifications section shows the home feed for both “you” and “following” tabs. Please fix. Otherwise it’s a great and useful app.

Overall, I like this app. Firstly, the devs have been extremely responsive towards me, which is great. As in the previous version’s reviews, scrolling with the laptop’s trackpad makes the feed go crazy. However, I haven’t seen this behaviour with an external mouse I am using. So that may be the reason the devs haven’t realized this yet. Auto refresh is always causing me to jump to the top of the feed, regardless of the setting (on Yosemite). The bug that prevented me to take a look at the explore section has been fixed, so it works great. I hope this product gets better. Great job.

It’s like there’re always some bugs on this software. IT’s beautiful though

I want the option to see captions while scrolling throught the feed. I know that it may contradict the idea behind this app but the OPTION would be fantastic. I use instagram as more of a social platform vs photography. Thanks.

My original review is below the line. However I had since written to the developer, and within a day, he replied to my concerns. An upcoming version addresses both, and in the meantime, a workaround to the problems I was having is available. I really appreciate the fast response and the help! Even with the problems it was worth the purchase price, and knowing they are being resolved makes it that much better! ________________________________________ Firstly, this is hands down the most gorgeous app for Instagram I’ve ever seen. It’s stable, works pretty well. Solid 4 stars. The only things missing for that last star: In the notifications area, no matter what I do it tells me “An error occured loading your activity. Please log out and log in”. No matter how many times I do this, it doesn’t remedy the problem. I even tried completely removing the app and all it’s components, revoking permissions on Instagram and then installing, re-authorizing - same problem. Second thing… No way to resize the window that I can see. Can’t make it taller or wider, so on this big gorgeous external display, it takes up just a very small part of the screen, making the photos extremely small even when they’re at the biggest the app allows them to be. I’m not as worried about that as I am just wishing I could make the window taller, at least going below the halfway point of my screen. Fix those two things, and you’ll have a rock solid 5 star app! Keep up the great work, it’s beautiful!

It is beautiful, and useful sometimes. If you’re want to capture the images of instagram, it makes it easier. Although it is slow and responses to make you sleepy, hope it will be better at next update.
